Background

Seth Gyamfi is an entrepreneur, educator, and healthcare workforce development leader whose career has been defined by a commitment to service, empowerment, and community impact. His professional journey began in the healthcare field, where he worked as a caregiver, providing direct support to seniors and individuals in need of compassionate care.

Inspired by a desire to improve lives and address growing healthcare needs, Mr. Gyamfi founded a home care agency dedicated to serving vulnerable populations. As the organization expanded, he recognized the increasing demand for qualified healthcare professionals and responded by launching a healthcare staffing company to help healthcare providers meet critical workforce needs.

Driven by a passion for creating long-term solutions, he later founded Dreamers Healthcare Institute, which has since evolved into Newlight Institute of Health Sciences & Applied Studies. Through his leadership, the institution has become a workforce-focused educational organization dedicated to preparing students for success in healthcare and other high-demand career fields.

Education

Mr. Gyamfi earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Michigan, where he completed dual majors in Political Science and Criminal Justice. His academic background, combined with his extensive hands-on experience in healthcare, business leadership, and workforce development, has provided him with a unique perspective on the importance of education as a pathway to personal and professional advancement.

Throughout his career, he has remained committed to lifelong learning, innovation, and creating opportunities that help individuals achieve meaningful and sustainable careers.

Dominique Gyamfi, MBA, serves as Executive Vice President of Newlight Institute of Health Sciences & Applied Studies, where she provides leadership in institutional operations, strategic partnerships, business development, and student success initiatives. Since joining the company, she has played a key role in supporting organizational growth, strengthening community relationships, and expanding opportunities for students pursuing career-focused education.

Education

Dominique holds a Master of Business Administration from Walsh College and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Studies and Agricultural Science from Michigan State University. Prior to her work in healthcare and applied studies education, she served as an Environmental Scientist in the due diligence sector and as a licensed real estate professional in Michigan. Her diverse professional background has equipped her with strong analytical, operational, and leadership skills that continue to support Newlight Institute’s growth and success.

Dominique is passionate about expanding access to quality education and creating pathways that connect students with meaningful career opportunities. She believes workforce-focused education has the power to transform lives, strengthen communities, and meet the evolving needs of employers. Akua Yeboaa-Lartey, RN, ADN

Director of Healthcare Programs & Nurse Instructor

Background

Akua Yeboaa-Lartey, RN, ADN, is a nursing professional, educator, and healthcare leader with a passion for patient care and workforce development. Her healthcare career began as a caregiver, where she developed a deep commitment to serving others through compassionate care. Since becoming a Registered Nurse in 2018, she has gained experience across long-term care, skilled nursing, and home healthcare settings.

Today, she serves as Director of Healthcare Programs & Nurse Instructor at Newlight Institute, where she oversees healthcare programs and helps prepare students for successful careers in the healthcare field.

Education

Ms. Yeboaa-Lartey holds Associate degree in Nursing (ADN) and is a licensed Registered Nurse. Her diverse clinical background and hands-on experience allow her to bring real-world knowledge into the classroom while ensuring students are prepared to meet the demands of today’s healthcare industry.

Passionate about teaching and mentorship, Ms. Yeboaa-Lartey believes education is the foundation of a strong healthcare workforce. Her vision is to equip students with the skills, confidence, and professionalism needed to deliver exceptional patient care and become leaders in their chosen careers.

Mashawn Ming-Youngblood serves as the Director of Admissions at Newlight Institute of Health Sciences & Applied Studies, where she has successfully led student recruitment and enrollment initiatives for the past three years. As one of the first points of contact for prospective students, she is dedicated to helping individuals navigate the admissions process and take the first step toward achieving their educational and career goals.

Known for her commitment to student success, Mashawn works closely with applicants to ensure they receive the guidance, resources, and support needed to make informed decisions about their future.
